Tick…tick…tick tok
The pendulum of time stops for no one.
Seconds that turn into minutes.
Minutes into hours.
Hours into days.
Tick tok…
Never to stop.
My mind wonders with each passing moment.
Moments that continue with each stroke in time.
Adrenaline pumping, and still it never stops.
Tick tok…tick…
Hesitation sets in.
Is the reality that surrounds me more than I can bare?
When will this frustration lift away?
I lay here filled with despair.
Tick tok… Tick tok …
Foolishness has found me.
Embarrassed with each and every stroke.
Break down these thoughts swimming within my mind.
Their talons hold on viciously.
Tick tok….
The pressure continues to push on.
Will the ticking never stop?
I close my eyes and grip my fingers into my palms.
My nails embedded into my skin.
Pause.
Deep breaths in.
Startled as I open my eyes.
To feel the tests of time itself.
A masquerade unravels.
These clutches cannot hold me.
I release myself from this lapse of time.
And I move on.
